The St. John’s House Mill and the Koelewei Mill are part of the municipal heritage. Both still function as active grain mills. The St. John’s House Mill (1770) still stands on its original site. The Koelewei Mill (1765) was transplanted to a new location near the “Dampoort” (Dam Gate) in 1996.

This museum is part of the St. John's Hospital complex. Inside, the old hospital infirmary can be visited as well as the old pharmacy. In the former chapel of the Hospital six paintings by Hans Memling are exposed. In addition to the wards the Diksmuidezolder (Dixmude Loft), the former dormitorium and the adjacent old pharmacy can also be visited.

Our Lady of the Potterie has existed since the 13th Century. Here nuns and monks were at the service of pilgrims, passers-by and the ill. The hospital was converted into a home for the elderly early on and continues to fulfil this function today. Today’s senior residents live in modern buildings. The wards have become a museum. This institution has an impressive collection of works of art, including objects related to healthcare, worship and the monastery. The Baroque church, which used to form part of the complex with the wards, is definitely worth a visit.

Double chapel. On ground level : St. Basil's Chapel (1139-1149) in roman style. The first floor chapel, converted into gothic style in the 15th century, contains a.o. the famous Relic of the Holy Blood (worship : every Friday). Church services on Sundays: 8 a.m. & 11 a.m. The museum displays the reliquary of the Holy Blood, clerical vestments and paintings.

The Liberty of Bruges once housed the city’s courts, but now provides a home for the Municipal Archives. As such, it is the very living, written memory of the history of the city itself. Passing through the old Court of Justice, you will reach the famous Renaissance Chamber (formerly the Aldermen’s Chamber), where pride of place is given to the monumental 16th-century fi replace, with its mantel of wood, marble and alabaster, designed by Lanceloot Blondeel.
