‘‘Braki’‘ is the place where the Latvian writer Rudolf Blaumanis (1863-1908) lived and created his works. The buildings were originally built on the Braki hill around 1810, and since then several families of tenants lived on the 200 acre farm. In 1868 Blaumanis, his wife and their 5-year-old son came as tenants to ‘‘Braki’‘. When the Blaumanis family arrived, the place looked rather neglected - there was no orchard, decorative plants, or trees. The restored farmhouse was opened to visitors in 1959. An ethnographic exhibition, showing the environment in which the owner and labourers at ‘‘Braki’‘ lived and worked, has been arranged in the farm buildings - the barns, cattle shed and sauna. The pathways through 43 hectares of museum territory have also been restored. ‘‘ (Latvian Museum Association)

"The Museum was established in Koknese in 1951. Since 1989 the Museum is located in the set of Kalna Ziedi cultural-historical monuments (the castle hill of the 1st c. B.C., farmstead, sacred oak) of Aizkraukle. There are over 80 thousand units in the museum collections.
The division of the Museum collections: • the archaeological collection: the excavations of Koknese castle, dated to XVII century, • the ethnographical articles (tools, articles of everyday use), national costumes), • the collection of art: paintings, graphic works, sculptures, paintings by countrymen. Gifts, • the photos and documents, • the memorial keepsakes by prominent persons, the materials of the historical events in IX and XX centuries, • Numismatics (bank-notes, coins, medals etc.). The offer for visitors: • the permanent exhibition ‘‘Preserved for the eternity”, the history of the area in the XX century, • the short-term displays of the collection and art, • Greenstone digital library software (cliff ‘‘Staburags” and prominent countrymen in literature, art and science) • The guides offer walks along the Daugava and enjoyment of a bonfire on the castle hill. ‘‘ (Latvian Museum Association) |

The museum was founded in 1967 in the 19th century farmstead ‘‘Riekstini’‘, where the Latvian writer and painter Janis Jaunsudrabins (1877-1962) spent his childhood. The museum houses a memorial exhibition (personal belongings, photographs, books, pictures) and a display of 19th-20th century domestic objects. "Voldemars Jakobsons Memorial Museum was opened in 1976 in ‘‘Galdini’‘, Bebri village. The house was built in 1870-1876 and is a historical monument of local significance. The aim of the museum is to provide an insight into the life and creative activity of the artist VoldemArs Jakobsons (1899-1974) and to arouse people's interest in the development of Latvian sculpture of the 20th century. The house has been preserved so that it looks as it did during VoldemArs Jakobsons' lifetime. It is surrounded by a garden designed by the artist himself. The permanent exhibition is dedicated to his creative work and includes drawings, sculptures, ethnographic rarities, ancient furniture, a small library and diaries. ‘‘ (Latvian Museum Association)
