The liberation of the South of the Netherlands during World War II is the central issue of the 16 ha Museum Park, situated in the area where, on the 17th of September 1944, airborne units of the 101st US Airborne Division landed as part of the Operation ''Market Garden''. Written documents, photographs, audio-visuals, memorabilia etc., illustrate the backgrounds and causes which led to the outbreak of the war. The occupation, suppression and finally the liberation of the Netherlands are covered extensively. In 15 large halls with a total surface of 15000 square meters, different important events from the Second World War are visualized by means of dioramas. A reconstructed typical Dutch scene, in which original vehicles and equipment are placed, recalls the days of the Second World War.

The marshy grounds around Best are very suitable for growing poplars, the trees which clogmakers love to work with. Round about 1850 there were some 23 manufacturers in and around Best, producing these wooden shoes. For over a hundred years the Van Laarhoven family has been practising te art of clogmaking.
In the clogmuseum you get to know all the aspects of the old craft. You will see the tools which were used and you can see the finished product. You can also see how clogmaking developed from handcraft to a modern industry.
In the clog manufactory clogmaking is demonstrated with some of the first machines from 1920 which have been fully restored and are now up and running like they used to.
