"Hiiumaa Museum was established during the reign of Kassari Manor located in the isle of Kassari, the fifth biggest island in Estonia with the size of 19 qkm. After the construction of the Long House in 1998 it became the place for the permanent exposition of Hiiumaa with such hits as “The Last Wolf of Hiiumaa”, the prism of Tahkuna lighthouse, a lifeboat from motor ship “Estonia” and other items concerning the ethnography, cultural history and nature of Hiiumaa. ” (Estonian Museums)

Hiiuma Museum

"Rudolf Tobias, founder of Estonian classical music, composer, professor of music and organ player, was born in this house in 1873. The house, built in 1839, is the only typical small-town dwelling house still existing in Estonia. During the stay in this old vicarage of the Tobias Family, the visitor is accompanied by the music of Rudolf Tobias. ” (Estonian Museums)

Hiiuma Museum

"The spectacular farmhouse from the 19th century with its eight buildings is an architectural rarity of Northern Europe. It is the open-air centre of Hiiumaa Museum where tar burning and smith days are held. In 1998 the museum centre was established in the Long House, which from the 1830s was the dwelling house of the Ungern-Sternbergs – directors and owners of Kärdla Broadcloth Factory.
