Situated amidst magnificent park and woodland, Callendar House tells stories spanning 600 years of Scottish history.
Through wars, rebellions and the industrial revolution, the house has played host to many great historical figures over the centuries, including Mary, Queen of Scots, Cromwell and Bonnie Prince Charlie.
Costumed interpreters bring history to life, creating the most exciting kind of interactive experience.
Open daily, the 1825 Kitchen forms the centre-piece of this interactive experience and you can sample authentic Georgian food, listen to stories about life below stairs, and watch kitchen staff go about their daily tasks.
The Forbes's Falkirk exhibition on the top floor of the house occasionally includes costumed interpretation on early 19th century clockmaking, shopkeeping and printing, however, you are advised to check availability of this service before you visit.
With a changing programme of temporary exhibitions and events, archives, gift shop, The Park Gallery and Teashop at the Stables, a day out at Callendar House offers something for everyone.

Kinneil Museum is located in the 17th century stable block of Kinneil House and acts as an interpretative centre for Kinneil Estate.
The exhibition 2,000 Years of History tells the story of the park from Roman times to the present day.
Antoninus Pius, St Serf, Mary, Queen of Scots and James Watt are among the many historical characters associated with the estate.
A short walk from the museum takes visitors to the Antonine Wall, awarded World Heritage Site status in July 2008, and Roman fortlet, a medieval Church and the site of the medieval village, Kinneil House and James Watt's cottage.
For schools, Kinneil Museum is particularly useful for studying the Romans, medieval industry and fieldwork skills. Activity guides are available.
