Left to to main altar: Some paintings, votivs and silverwork including a large piece of the „Holy cross“.
But alltogether, the Treasury consists of 138 reliquaries, most of which are traditionally carried in procession round the city on the feast of St. Blaise (February, 3). On the altar stand the three major reliquaries of St. Blaise: the Reliquary of the Skull, in the form of a Byzantine crown of enamel and silver filigree work set with 24 12th Cent. enamels; a 12th Cent. silver-gilt arm reliquary, set with nine Byzantine enamels (originally 18th Cent.); and a 17th Cent. silver filigree leg reliquary with the arms of the Republic in enamel. Behind is a large late-Gothic silver Cross enclosing part of the true cross, decorated with relief's in silver-gilt by J. Matov (16th Cent.), and a silver statuette of St. Blaise.

The Museums have occasional exhibitions.
"The Dubrovnik Museums were established on February 5, 1872, as Patriotic Museum, at the urging and prompting of the Chamber of Commerce and its chairman Antun Drobac (1810-1882), pharmacist, natural historian and collector of naturalia. Drobac became lifetime president and the first curator of this fourth ever museum in Croatia. The museum was located on the first floor of the building of the commune, and was opened to the public in April 1873. Its nucleus consisted of a fine natural history collection along with which there were soon cultural, historical and archaeological sections, as well as one related to folk handicrafts. In 1932 these collections moved to Fort St John (Sv. Ivan), and in 1940 a part (the lapidarium and the ethnological collection) were located in Rupe, the former granary. The culture history collection (a later section) was moved in 1948 into the Rector’s Palace. The first inventory was made systematically in 1882; in February, 1940 the museum obtained its first statutes. Today the Dubrovnik Museums, a regional and local establishment, comprise five museums or organisational units: the Cultural History Museum, Maritime Museum, Archaeological Museum and the Contemporary History Museum, all of them coordinated by a joint management. Their ample holdings are on show in 3 buildings (Rector’s Palace, Fort St John and Rupe Granary). Neither the Archaeology not the Contemporary History museum has a building or premises for a permanent display of its holdings." (MDC)

In 1991, the new permanent display of the Ethnographic Museum with some 5,000 exhibits was opened in the renovated building of the Rupe (Hole) Granary. The Granary, built by the Dubrovnik government in the oldest part of town on the islet of Lave in 1590, was formerly used to store the municipal grain reserves in 15 large well-containers cut in stone on the ground floor. The original appearance of the ground floor was preserved during renovation, and three wells (holes), architecturally accentuated with rails, have been opened. The history of the building is illustrated by photographs. The permanent exhibition illustrates the cultural heritage of the Dubrovnik region - the economic and material culture is displayed on the first floor and the spiritual (customs, traditional folk costumes, folklore, textiles and lace) on the second floor.
Year of foundation: 1938.

The Dubrovnik Maritime Museum was established in 1941 following the organization by Dubrovnik Club of the exhibition entitled Dubrovnik and Sea Routes through Centuries.
Since 1949, the Museum had been run by JAZU (the Yugoslav Academy of Arts and Sciences), until in 1987 it became a part of the Dubrovnik Museum.
St. John's Castle
The Dubrovnik Maritime Museum is located in St. John's Castle which has been rebuilt after the earthquake of 1979. The permanent display was opened in 1986. It consists of 4,000 exhibits owned by the Museum, which illustrate the naval history of Dubrovnik and the surrounding region. Among the exhibits are ship models dating back to the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries, as well as flags, cannons and other weapons, figureheads, nautical instruments, log books, various documents, and the like. The Museum holds a valuable library containing many rare books and important archival materials.
Fortifications and defence walls of Dubrovnik testify to careful and systematic building activity, which for centuries ensured the Dubrovnik Republic against invaders. St. John's Castle at Mul is one of the four largest town fortresses, whose construction started in the 14th c. with the intention to provide protection to the town harbour against waves to the south and enemies approaching the town from the sea. The present form of the Castle had been created by the 16th century by merging individual buildings into a unified whole. In 1889, the Castle was rebuilt, whereby two floors were created and gunports turned into large windows. The Maritime Museum was relocated to St. John's Castle in 1952.
