”In the frame of international exchange project “Catacombs of 21st Century”, organized by the students of Kaunas University of Technology (September 10-20, 2005), Lithuanian and foreign students have created Museum for the Blind under supervision of the sculptor, the National prize winner – Robertas Antinis. The idea of this museum is the sensual experience and means of its expression (such as hearing, smell, touch). Exposition “Catacombs of 21st Century” that evokes the spatial installation, includes 8 different parts: passing, manhole, garden, first step, border, second step, fragments, memory. Exposition is absolutely invisible; visitors can only perceive it through sounds, smells and touching. According to R. Antinis, visitors of this museum must work through hanging objects, elastic stripes, spaces of sounds, smells and touching.
Visitor information is in Braille and in common writing.
Visitors who can see are also invited to conquer “Catacombs of 21st Century”.
Museum was opened September 19, 2005 and will be open for the next three years. This is the first museum for the blind in the Baltic States and one of the first among museums of Eastern Europe.” (Museums of Lithuania 2007)

"Pedagogical museum, which is one of the oldest museums of the independent Lithuania, was established in 1922 by Kaunas local government. Initiator and head of the museum for many years was Vincas Ruzgas (1890–1972), who was pedagogue, author of manuals, and public man.
During the World War II the museum was closed.
In 1958 the museum was named as Republican Pedagogical Museum and its exhibits for the visitors were accessible again. In 1980 it was opened an exposition which examined development of education in Lithuania. In 2002 when the founder of the museum was substituted the museum was renamed as Pedagogical Museum of Kaunas County.

The collections accumulated by the museum reflect the history of education in Lithuania: the first school mentioned in 1397 book of Vilnius Cathedral, and other schools opened in Lithuania after the introduction of Christianity, parish schools and colleges of 17th-18th centuries, education under the tsarist regime, the system of education in the Republic of Lithuania, its development in the period between the two world wars, and the Soviet system of education. The collections include teaching materials, educational periodicals, and the personal libraries of well-known teachers and academicians." (Museums of Lithuania 2007)
