"Museum is installed in the former apartment of the writer Gabriele Petkevicaite-Bite (1861-1943), where she lived since 1932 till 1943. Exposition features her personal objects, part of her library, furniture from Puziniðkiai estate, photographs, documents, etc.
Gabriele Petkevicaite-Bite is the famous writer of the end of 19th and beginning of 20th century from Panevëþys region, also – literature critic and historian, publicist, public character, educator, philanthropist.
In 1932 Gabriele Petkevicaite-Bite settled in the modest house on Sv. Zitos Street, where she wrote her best-known novel “Ad astra”." (Museums of Lithuania)

"The archives of local Court of Upyte built in 1614 by the elder of Zemaitija (Samogitia) and Upyte Jeronimas Valavicius. The building was built in stone with solid doors and iron bars to ensure maximum security. This is the oldest archive building in Lithuania. Later on it acquired different functions and was used for various domestic purposes. The first exposition of Panevëþys museum was opened in the oldest building of this town in January 18, 1925. "The museum was opened in 2004 in the former quarters of “Sajudis” movement of Panevezys. Exposition reflects the resistance to the soviet occupation in Panevezys region during the period of 1940-1990. Main subjects: first soviet occupation, exile and imprisonment, partisan war, unarmed resistance, “Sajudis” movement.
Large part of exposition, dedicated to the first Soviet period in Panevëþys region, reflects the terror of receding Red army.
Photographs, personal objects of prisoners and exiles illustrate the life of political prisoners and deportees.
It also presents impressive exposition of partisan war, unarmed civil resistance, underground and dissident activities.
Activities of “Sajudis” movement and regaining of independence of Lithuania finalize the exhibition. It also includes virtual exposition and reading room." (Museums of Lithuania)

"In 1965 a little exposition displaying archaeological, ethnographic items, photographs, printed matters was arranged in a wooden building of the former Maironis primary school near Pasvalys park on the concern of a teacher of history Juozas Velzis and an enthusiast of ethnography Antanas Stapulionis.
A historian Albinas Kazlauskas co-operating with school children, antiquarians of Vilnius, Kaunas, Panevezys, accumulated old publications, periodicals with the material about Pasvalys land. He managed to collect many books, other publications written, compiled by famous people descending from the land or in which they published their works.
On November 29, 1991 Pasvalys area museum was established by the decision of the municipality of the district. Material accumulated earlier has been constantly replenished with new displays.

"Two poets lived in the house in Krincinas built by a chemist Vilius Matuzevicius in 1928-1929. During 1987-1994 the poet Eugenijus Matuzevicius used to rest and write here. He compiled his two last books of poetry here.
After the poet's death (1994) the homestead became memorial.
A permanent exposition has been arranged which reflects the creative way of two brothers - Eugenijus and Leonardas Matuzeviciai.

"December 24, 2002, next to Kupiskis bay, in Laukminiskes village the museum was opened in the family house of writer Petras Babickas and actress Une Babickaite. Ethnographic exposition presents 19th-20th century domestic life, mores and traditions of peasants of near-by villages.
Exposition commemorating Une Babickaite and Petras Babickas introduces their lives and works. Also colonel of Lithuanian army Kazys Babickas and teacher, educated as military – Vytautas Babickas were born in this house. " (Museums of Lithuania)
