More than 150 ancient crafts are on display in the museum, including a smithy, colgmakers' workshop and a farm complete with stable, yard, furniture and clothes, all belonging to a bygone era. On the upper floor of the museum is an unique collection of old and antique toys. Temporary exhibitions with special themes are regularly organised.

Slot Loevestein was built between 1357 and 1368 by order of Sir Dirc Loef van Horne. First it served as a toll castle and defensive post, then as a prison (from about 1575) and later, in the 18th century, it was a military garrison.
The exposition ‘Opgegraven!’ displays archaeological finds from the castle.

Friends of the Castles of Gelderland / Stichting Vrienden der Geldersche Kasteelen

Kasteel Ammersoyen was built around 1300. It was heavily damaged by fire in 1590, and sustained damage during World War II. It was reopened in 1975 an now houses an museum where archaeological finds discovered during the restoration of the castle (1959-1975) are displayed.

The museum, housed in a former synagogue designed by architect Oscar Leeuw and dating from 1912, has an extensive collection of animals, plants and minerals from the varied landscape of the Gelderland’s river district with its Ice-Age relics and wetlands.
In the Information Centre, a series of dynamically designed thematic units explain the history of the Gelderse Poort and look at contemporary developments. Here visitors can get to know many of the waterfowl, mammals, fishes, plants and insects to be found in the region. CopyrightDBVCMSMuc2007

The museum displays one of the largest collections of Roman artefacts and art objects in the Netherlands. There are also prehistoric and early medieval finds from the region and a collection concerning the cultural history of the Kwartier van Nijmegen with the 'Kanis family triptych', the monumental 'View of the Valkhof castle' by Jan van Goyen and the painting of the 'Nijmegen Peace' by Henry Gascard as special highlights. The museum also has collections of Nijmegen silver and guild objects.
The collection of modern and contemporary art contains more than 500 paintings and 2000 works on paper, which represent a number of Dutch modern plastic arts from the 1960s to the present.

The museum is based on a private collection of veteran and modern bicycles and cycle accessories belonging to the founder, Mr. Gertjan Moed. The collection actually includes bicycles, tricycles and quadricycles, starting with the very first ''hobbyhorse'' which was invented in 1817. More than 250 authentic veteran cycles including a large collection of cycle accessories and posters let you experience the development of the bicycle from its earliest beginnings up to the present day, and on into the future.
In addition, the museum has an extensive collection of books on bicycles, research books, specialist literature, old price-lists and photographs. It also keeps the historical archives of the Dutch bicycle manufacturer ''Koninklijke Gazelle'' and parts of the archives of other Dutch manufacturers. Restoration workshops.
