"The Vecdaugava Regional Studies and Fishing Museum is located on the banks of the Vecdaugava - in a historic area in a beautiful nature reserve. The nature reserve serves to protect rare plants and the nesting sites of various water birds.
The foundations of an early 13th century cistersian cloister are located here as well as part of the wall and moat of the old Daugavgriva fortress.
The museum displays documents, plans, photographs, fishing tackle and tools which demonstrate the work and lives of fishermen in the last century. Here it is also possible to view items associated with the activities of workers in related shore manufacturing industries.

First Science centre in Latvia with 10 years experience in this field, Interactive hands-on expositions about sciences.

Children’s Science Centre „Tehnoannas pagrabi” (Cellars of the TechnoAnn) is an interactive journey into the world of human senses for everyone – child or adult. This is one of the smallest science centres in the world. The aim of its exclusive atmosphere and originally made exhibits that combine art, science and world of toys is to raise people’s curiosity and creativity.
Every session is like a show where visitors can take a trip in exposition with many hands-on exhibits, get the stars in the planetarium, try to find exit in the maze under Riga and get to the amazing amphitheatre of chemistry. It is both funny and educational.

The Eduards Smilgis Theatre Museum occupies the house of the distinguished director, the founder of the Dailes (Art) Theatre Eduards Smilgis (1886-1966) in Pardaugava. The building was especially designed for Smilgis in the 1920s and reflects his original, striking and contradictory personality. The museum was opened in 1976. In Pardaugava, near Mara's Pond and Arkadija Park, you are welcome to visit the writer Janis Akuraters' (1876-1937) wooden mansion, designed by the architect Verners Vitands in the early 1930s. Memorabilia and interior decoration such as the fire-place, works by Latvian artists, and perfectly preserved furniture which once belonged to the Akuraters family, give a taste of what life was like in the 1930s when the writer's guests were the leading figures in Latvian cultural life. ‘‘ (Latvian Museum Association)

"A collection bequeathed to Latvia by G. Gaudins, a Latvian residing in Germany, form the basis of the collection of the Latvian Culture Museum ‘‘Dauderi’‘. It contains old documents, photos, medals, coins, ethnographic exhibits and other interesting items. ‘‘Dauderi’‘ focuses on the 1920s and 1930s - the years of Latvia's first independence - and Latvian cultural activities in exile.

"The Janis Rozentals and Rudolfs Blaumanis Museum is located in one of the most architecturally beautiful streets of Riga. The flat of the painter Janis Rozentals (1866-1916) is situated in an Art Nouveau house built in 1904 to the design of the architect Konstantins Peksens. The flat became a mecca for the Latvian intelligentsia of the early 20th century. The artist's memorial studio, parlour, furniture, art works and household items give a genuine Art Nouveau feel. The writer Rudolfs Blaumanis lived in one of the rooms as a tenant from 1906 to 1908. The museum was opened in 1973. ‘‘ (Latvian Museum Association)

The museum had found in 1990 when the possibility appeared to save from the distruction the last documental evidence about 400 years of the Jewish presence in Latvia.
Museum has almost 12 000 units on Judaism tradition, Jewish culture, social and political life. The first permanent exhibition on Jewish history in Latvia from 17th century till nowadays had opened in 1996. The extension of exhibition in the new halls has been started in 2002. The museum offers the thematical excursions, the documentary films ‘‘Kadish’‘ and video-film's trilogy on the Jewish Saviours in Latvia. The Museum of Education was founded in 1990. It is devoted to the history of education and schools in Latvia. Its activities include scientific research, lectures and conferences. The museum holds rare books, original documents and other exhibits dealing with the history of education. It organizes displays of textbooks and other publications. The museum cooperates with the Latvian Association of School Museums, the magazine ‘‘Skolotajs’‘ and Ludis Berzins Memorial Foundation. Once a year the museum publishes a collection of articles under the title ‘‘Age and Personality’‘.‘‘ (Latvian Museum Association)

The Museum of Friedrich Zander is located in a two-storied house which belonged to F. Zander's family from 1898-1913. The building and the surrounding garden have been reconstructed as they were from 1904-1906.
The museum contains two permanent displays. One of them reflects Zander's life, the other one illustrates the history of astronomy in Latvia. Some of the highlights include old astronomical instruments and the only collection of meteorites in Latvia. Visitors can see movies and computer presentations on space research in the museum. Competitions related to astronomical themes are traditionally organized in the museum once a year in cooperation with the Institute of Astronomy of the University of Latvia. ‘‘ (Latvian Museum Association)
