18th century park, located near the Zasa river mill pond cascade as landscape park. A careful observer will notice the Werewolf Tree, the Devil’s Stone, the holy spring and romantic bridges. The secrets will be revealed only by a knowing local guide.
The park is located on both sides of Zasa river at the mill pond cascade. Height above the sea level in the territory of the park fluctuates between 109 and to 119.6 metres. Arranging of the park started together with construction of the palace of Heinrich von Zass (the place Zasulauks in Riga has also been named after him). Thee composition has the trends of 18th century romantic landscape park. The park reminds the Gatcina park in miniature.
Later Zasa was owned by baron, Carskoje Selo administrator Greig, English by ntionality and maintained his manor as one of the richest and most spectacular in the region.
The church located on the hill near the park, built in 1750 and has been included in the list of Latvia`s artefacts protected by the state.

"The Preili Museum of History and Applied Arts is located in the gatekeeper's house of Preili Manor that dates from the 18th-19th centuries. There are over 15 000 objects in the collection including various documents, photographs and valuable books and collections of archaeology and ceramics. Creations of the artists of the Preili area and Latgale region can also be found in the museum. The oldest articles in the textile collection date back to the second half of the 19th century. There is also a collection of ethnographic articles accessible to the public outdoors. Visitors can also take a tour around the romantic Preili park and visit P. Cernavskis' pottery. ‘‘Jasmuiza’‘ is set in a picturesque place on the banks of the River Jasa in Latgale, which favoured the creative work of the national poet Rainis. It is the land of his youth, where he spent his school holidays more than a hundred years ago. The exhibition reflects the friendly atmosphere in the poet's family. Rainis also contributed to the collection of folklore of the Latgale region. A vast exhibition of Latgale ceramics, which includes works of masters, is offered to visitors. It has a library and a memorial section about Valerija Seile (1891-1970), the director of Daugavpils State Teachers' Institute from 1923-1940. “The Daugavpils Museum of Regional Studies and Arts was founded in 1938.
A considerable amount of the collection was lost during World War II. In August 1944 the museum was reborn, and since 1959 the museum has been situated in a separate building on Riga Street. In 1991 a gradual redevelopment of the exhibition began. The new part of the exhibition shows local history and nature from ancient times up to 1922. There are about 79 000 items in the museum collection including large collections of ceramics, ethnography, coins, documents, photographies, postcards and prints.“ (Latvian Museum Association)

“The Folk Museum "Naujene" reflects the national heritage of Naujene parish through the display of antiquities from the Dinaburga castle, churches, ancient graves, models of castle mounds and others. In the ethnographic section of the exhibition one can see a farmer's living room and craftsman's tools. There is also a natural history diorama "Underwater World", and an exhibition "The Curves of the River Daugava". In the open air ethnographic section in Slutiski village one can visit the potters workshop, have a ride with a horse and cart and learn about the special significance of the Russian stove in the everyday life on the farm. “Vabole is the place where Count Boleslav Zieberg-Plater built his estate at the beginning of the 19th century. The Brothers Skrindas Museum was opened in one of the buildings on the estate in 1996.The museum is devoted to the first public figures of national Enlightenment brothers Benedikts (1869-1947), Kazimirs (1875-1919) and Antons (1881-1918). The museum contains books, an array of magazines, newspapers and photographs illustrating the early 20th century. The museum displays temporary exhibitions and a permanent exhibition exploring the life and work of the Skrinda family. The museum uses old furniture and various domestic objects to narrate the history of the Liksna and Vabole civil parishes. Tours of the museum and the grounds are available as well as recreational activities on the bank of Lake Baltezers.“ (Latvian Museum Association)

"In 1977 the Kraslava branch of the Daugavpils Local History and Art Museum was opened, which formed the basis of the independent Kraslava History and Art Museum, founded in 1983. The museum is located in one of the buildings of Kraslava Castle, built in the 18th century. About 15 000 items are stored in the museum store, including samovars, irons, kerosene lamps, ethnographic articles and works of art. These and other items are displayed in regular changing exhibitions in the museum's exhibition hall. The museum also organizes exhibitions of the creations of Latgallian artists.
