The Museum of Puppets and Toys at the Modrý Kamen Castle is a specialised museum with a nationwide scope, focused on recording the history and present conditions of puppet theatre, history and the development of children’s toys, as well as the history of the region in which the museum is situated. The cultural-artistic, historical, archaeological and ethnographic collections acquired, professionally processed and preserved by the museum, in the framework of its specialisation, are displayed at exhibitions and also in the form of various cultural activities enjoying great popularity among visitors, in particular among children and younger generations.An interesting feature is the historical exhibition of dental technology, which is presented on a long-term basis at the museum premises by the Slovak Chamber of Dental Technicians and is one of a kind in Central Europe. The castle is formed by ruins of the old Gothic castle and the building of a Baroque manor-house in which the museum is seated.
