Country House of Dr. Wilém Kriz. The Building is located in the old town quarter called Skotník. The first written report dates back to 1769. There were many owners until 1926 but it was Josef Anderle who made the most effort to change its original architecture. The name is closely connected with the person of JUDr. Wilém Kriz who had the house rebuilt in the Neo-Renaissance style. He owned the building until the end of the World War II, after that the town of ®atec has became an owner proprietor. Between 2000 and 2001 it underwent an extensive reconstruction. The Regional Museum in Zatec has been running the facility since 2003. The Kriz Country House offers cultural, social and educational activities for the general public.

The open-air museum is available in the season from 1.5. to 30.9.
It is available for previously reported groups in the period out of the season too (tel. 415 652 456, 415 783 057).
Individual visitors have the access during all the year.

This open-air museum was established as a part of research programme, which followed the results of wide archaeological research done in this locality from 50s to 70s by dr. I. Pleinerová from the Archaeologic Institute in Prague.

The area of the research turned to the station of experimental archaeology in 1981, similar to ones working in Denmark, England, Germany, Poland, France etc. The buildings in the open-air museum were built by following the ground planes uncovered by the archaeological research. There were used the same kinds of wood and tools like in the past. The working techniques simulated those used in the past as closely as possible. The experimental burns of the ceramics were performed in the replic of the pottery klin, the research of the durability and germinative capacity of the corn stored in the borrow-pit for a long time was proceeded here. The conditions of living were examined in residental objects in summer and winter period.
