"The history of fur in Tranås - The Fur Town
The 29th of October 2003 it was time for Tranås Community in co-operation with Tranås Fur club to open Tranås Museum of Fur. The Fur club, founded in 1949, consists only of skilled craftsmen with several years of experience in the fur industry. The machines, tools and inventories that are to be shown are from different fur factories that are shut down, but also from some that still exist. The purpose of having a permanent museum of fur is to document cultural and local history for posterity. The Museum of Fur will be disposed on the ground floor of the Eriksberg´s Museum in three rooms. In the larger room you can find a completely functional fur workshop. There will occasionally be open house with furrier and fur seamstresses working in the workshop. In a smaller room the history of fur will be presented." (www.ostergotland.info) |

Passagen is a new Center for contemporary art, located at the very heart of central Linköping. A market hall previously occupied the premises which is roughly 500m2. The Art Centre is run by the Linköping board of Culture and Leisure. The aim is to exhibit interesting contemporary art within three different spheres: regionally, nationally and internationally. Linköping is the fifth largest city in Sweden and is located 200 km Southwest of Stockholm.
