The museum’s older collections offer a comprehensive view of 20th century art, with a special emphasis on the period up to the 1960s. Today, the Imatra Art Museum focuses in particular on contemporary art originating from south-east Finland.

The Karelian Farmhouse Open Air Museum and the Industrial Workers' Housing Museum have been the basis for the Townmuseum located in Imatra's Cultural centre.
The main exhibition tells about Imatra in the 1950's and 60s and the cultural history and geography of River Vuoksi, the biggest river in Finland.

Hospital District of South Karelia

In summer (2006: museum closed?).

The museum is housed in a former hospital with exhibition areas spread over several floors. The three separate exhibitions illustrate the three different stories which make up the history of the building.
Initially it was home to a spa and a winter sanatorium founded by a Russian doctor at the beginning of the 20th century. The main building was destroyed by fire in 1923. Photographs tell the history of the Rauha spa during this Russian period.
The second section displays an extensive collection of objects used in psychiatric care and treatment in the new Rauha District Psychiatric Hospital that opened on the same place in 1926. Visitors can also see the lobotomy room, complete with instruments, illustrating the history of psychiatric care in the original surroundings.
The third section of the museum houses an exhibition devoted to the era when the building was used as a tuberculosis and war hospital.

From the middle of June to the middle of August and by appointment.

The museum was founded in 1955 in a public granary built in 1861. There are about 2000 objects in the building - household equipment, local means of livehood, a section of a church museum, the Edelfelt room and effects of the Civil Guard.
