This is a museum village with hotel accomodation, all rebuilt after WW II close to the appearance of the pre-war village at the site.


Most tourists visit Werchnije Mandrogi in the context of organized river cruise between Moscow and Saint - Petersburg. It is also possible to visit the museum villageon your own. There are several daily trains that depart from Ladoschskij Station in Saint-Petersburg and reach the district capital Podporozhye after about four hours. From there you drive 30 km by taxi to the village Werchnije Mandrogi . The train ride in one direction costs the equivalent of 25 to 50 EUR, a taxi ride - the equivalent of 20 EUR (2013).

In holiday village Werchnije Mandrogi there are different types of accommodation. A hotel room without breakfast costs the equivalent of between 70 to 140 € per day. For rental of holiday homes that have up to three bedrooms, is calculated 210-400 € per day. If you want to reside in the magnificent estate, pays the equivalent of € 1,100 per day.(2013).

On the grounds of the resort there is a restaurant with excellent Russian cuisine and for local conditions upscale prices. A dinner without wine costs from 25 € per person. All cottages are equipped with kitchens. The independent preparation of meals is not permitted. Guests are invited to be served by the cook staff of the resort. Personal preferences regarding the meals are catered for.

Vladimir Nabokov spent the first 18 years of his life in the Nabokov family house at 47 Bolshaya Morskaya Street in St. Petersburg. In September, 1997, the house opened as the V. V. Nabokov Museum, thus becoming the core link between the writer and his native city. Its exposition recounts the history of the Nabokov family and the house were they lived.
